Delicious food with relaxed but friendly service.
Very good experience, food was lovely
My wife and I are from the US and we visited Ireland back in September 2024, and La Sosta was one of the most special meals we had on this trip. For my primo, I had the ravioli with asparagus, and it was some of the best pasta I've ever had. It reminded me of my trip to Italy! My wife's primo was the rigatoni alla vodka, and it was great also. My secondo was the lamb with mint sauce, and my wife's secondo was the chicken, bacon, and mozzarella dish. Our contorni were roasted potatoes, green beans, and aubergines. The house white wine and sparkling water paired well with the food. For dolci, I had panna cotta with raspberry sauce, and my wife had the gelato. It was fun to practice speaking Italian with the owner also. He made the experience authentic and uniquely Italian. The pace of dining here was leisurely and relaxing, all of the food was outstanding, and we left full and happy!
10/10 experience at La Sosta. We had an evening to celebrate our elopement a few weeks ago. They went above and beyond. The place and atmosphere was perfect and the food and service was exceptional. Amazing food and service with an extensive wine list. One of the best steaks I've had anywhere in the world, it was truly excellent. Partner had the fish main and raved about both the fish and the sauce. Was very quiet when we were there so not much atmosphere though it is a nice layout and could get lively on busier nights - definitely worth a visit for some fine dining in Derry
